## About Arabba - Marmolada

Arabba is the steepest corner of the Sella Ronda and the one that keeps its snow best: north-facing, high, and noticeably more demanding than the gentle blues that make the rest of the circuit famous.

From here a cable car reaches the Marmolada glacier, and the descent from its 3,265 m top station — the Bellunese — is one of the great runs of the Dolomites, twelve kilometres with the whole range laid out in front of you.

## Where lessons start

Not the obvious place to start from zero — this is the sector strong skiers pick. Where an instructor earns their fee here is the step up: steeper pistes, and the Marmolada descent done properly.

Venice is around two and a half hours, Innsbruck about two and a half over the Brenner.

It is a red rather than a black, but it is long, high and cold, and the glacier section is exposed to wind: go early, dress for it, and keep an eye on the last lift back over to Arabba.
