## About Auron

Auron is the older, more attractive of the two big Alpes-Maritimes resorts, built around a village with a twelfth-century chapel rather than a 1970s base. Its terrain is more varied and more wooded than Isola's, which makes for better skiing on a bad-light day.

It is slightly lower than Isola 2000, so in a warm winter its neighbour holds snow better — but on character there is no contest.

## Frequently asked questions

### Auron or Isola 2000?

Auron for character, Isola for snow certainty. Auron is built around an old village with a twelfth-century chapel, and its terrain is more varied and wooded, which skis better on a bad-light day. Isola 2000 sits higher and holds snow better in a warm winter. Both are about 90 minutes from Nice.
