## About Bukowina Tatrzańska

Bukowina Tatrzańska sits high on the hills between Zakopane and Białka, at around 900 m, and on a clear day the whole of the Tatras is lined up across the valley. It is a quieter base than either neighbour, with a great many guesthouses and Termy Bukovina, a large thermal pool complex.

The skiing is a collection of small, separate stations rather than one area. Rusiń-Ski is the main one in the village, a short, easy hill whose north-facing slopes hold their snow well; Olczań-Ski is smaller still. Jurgów, a few kilometres east in the same commune, has two four-seat chairs on Górków Wierch, a few hundred metres from the Slovak border. Białka's bigger area is about ten minutes away by car.

## Where lessons start

Rusiń-Ski is the place for a first lesson: short, easy and keeping its snow when south-facing slopes have gone soft. Once you can link turns, the chairlift runs at Jurgów or a day across at Białka give more variety.

## Getting there

Kraków is about two hours by road via Nowy Targ, and Zakopane is about 25 minutes away. The nearest railway stations are Zakopane and Nowy Targ, with buses on to the village.

## Frequently asked questions

### Where should I ski if I stay in Bukowina Tatrzańska?

Start on Rusiń-Ski in the village, the easiest and most reliable of the local hills. For longer runs, Jurgów (two four-seat chairs a few kilometres east) and Białka Tatrzańska (about 21 km of linked pistes, ten minutes away) are the natural day trips, and both, like Rusiń-Ski, are on the Tatry Super Ski regional pass.
