## About La Rosière

La Rosière faces due south across the Isère valley towards the Mont Blanc massif, which gives it sunshine, big views and the usual spring caveat that the snow softens early.

Its distinguishing feature is the link over the Petit Saint-Bernard pass into Italy, joining La Thuile in the Aosta Valley. Skiing to another country for lunch and back is a real day out here, and the Italian side is often quieter and better value.

## Where lessons start

Sunny, gentle beginner slopes right by the village, which for a family in February is worth more than an extra hundred kilometres of piste. Check the pass before planning the Italy crossing — it closes in bad weather.

## Getting there

Bourg-Saint-Maurice is about 30 minutes, Geneva around three hours.

## Instructors at La Rosière

_No instructors have joined here yet._

## Qualifications required in France

Teaching for payment in France requires the Professional card (diplôme d'État de ski), issued by Ministère des Sports.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I ski into Italy from La Rosière?

Yes, over the Petit Saint-Bernard pass to La Thuile, in the Aosta Valley, on the same lift pass. It is a real day out, and the Italian side is often quieter and better value. The crossing closes in bad weather, so check before planning it, and keep an eye on the time for the lifts back.
