## About San Isidro

San Isidro is the largest ski area in the Cantabrian Mountains, spread across the pass that divides León from Asturias. The range is lower than the Pyrenees but sits directly in the path of Atlantic weather, so when a front comes in off the Bay of Biscay this corner can hold as much snow as anywhere in Spain.

It has the most varied terrain in the north, and it is the anchor of a cluster — Fuentes de Invierno is over the ridge, Valgrande-Pajares an hour west.
