Sauze d'Oulx has a long history as a British favourite, and a correspondingly lively reputation after dark. Underneath that it is a genuinely good mountain: most of the skiing runs through larch forest, which is unusual in the Via Lattea and very welcome when the light goes.

It is part of the 400 km Via Lattea, which reaches across the French border to Montgenèvre.
