About Alpine Pal
Alpine Pal is a marketplace for ski and snowboard lessons, with independent instructors and ski schools side by side. You choose the instructor or the school, and you can talk to them before you book anything.
Why we exist
Booking a ski lesson usually means booking a time slot, not a person. You find out who will teach you when you arrive, and there is no moment beforehand to tell them that you are nervous on ice or that your daughter learns better with someone patient.
Instructors and ski schools have the mirror-image problem. Independent instructors are excellent at teaching and have no interest in building a website, running ads or chasing invoices. Schools have the team and the experience, but reaching visitors from other countries before they travel is a job of its own.
Alpine Pal puts them together. Independent instructors and ski schools publish who teaches, what, where and for how much. You compare, message them before you commit, and book: a specific instructor, or a lesson with a school that assigns someone from its team.
How we make money
The instructor sets the price of the lesson. We keep a 10% commission on it and the remaining 90% is theirs.
There is no booking fee added at checkout, no subscription and no charge for listing a profile. The price on the profile is the price you pay.
What we are not
We do not employ instructors and we do not teach. Most instructors here are independent; some teach for an authorised school that manages them on the platform. Either way the lesson is a contract between you and them; we handle the introduction, the booking, the payment and the messaging.
That matters in practice: the quality and safety of the lesson depend on the instructor. What we can do is check their documents before their profile goes live, hold your money until the lesson happens, and step in if something goes wrong.
Where we are
The catalogue covers 288 ski resorts across 15 countries, from the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Tatras and the mountains of Bulgaria to the Andes, New Zealand and Japan, and the site works in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Polish, Dutch and Russian.
We are growing resort by resort, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise: some resorts already have instructors and some do not yet. If a country page shows none, that is what it says.
Who is behind it
Alpine Pal was founded by Santi Prats, who designs and builds it and reads the inbox. Anything you write to us reaches the person responsible for the platform, not a support desk.
