About Alpine Pal
Alpine Pal is a marketplace for ski and snowboard lessons. You choose the instructor, not a school, and you can talk to them before you book anything.
Why we exist
Book a lesson through a resort ski school and you get assigned whoever is free that morning. You do not know their name until you arrive, you cannot tell them beforehand that you are nervous on ice or that your daughter learns better with someone patient, and if it goes badly the following day you start again with a stranger.
Instructors have the mirror-image problem. Most of the good ones are independent professionals who are excellent at teaching and have no interest in building a website, running ads or chasing invoices.
Alpine Pal puts the two together. Instructors publish who they are, what they teach, where and for how much. You compare them, message the one you like, and book directly.
How we make money
The instructor sets the price of the lesson. We keep a 10% commission on it and the remaining 90% is theirs.
There is no booking fee added at checkout, no subscription and no charge for listing a profile. The price on the profile is the price you pay.
What we are not
We are not a ski school. We do not employ instructors and we do not teach. The lesson is a contract between you and the instructor; we handle the introduction, the booking, the payment and the messaging.
That matters in practice: the quality and safety of the lesson depend on the instructor. What we can do is check their documents before their profile goes live, hold your money until the lesson happens, and step in if something goes wrong.
Where we are
The catalogue covers 206 ski resorts across 12 countries, from the Pyrenees and the Alps to the Andes, New Zealand and Japan, and the site works in English and Spanish.
We are growing resort by resort, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise: some resorts already have instructors and some do not yet. If a country page shows none, that is what it says.
Talk to us
Alpine Pal is a small operation and the inbox is read by the people who build it. Write to info@alpinepal.com — about a booking, about joining as an instructor, or to tell us something is broken.
