Lake Louise sits inside Banff National Park, in the Canadian Rockies, under scenery that is on the front of more calendars than any other mountain landscape in the world. The lake it is named after, frozen and ringed by peaks, is a fifteen-minute drive from the lifts.

The skiing pairs World Cup downhill pistes on the front face with big open back bowls behind, and the layout is unusually democratic: every chairlift on the mountain serves a green, a blue and a black, so a mixed-ability group can ride up together and split at the top.
