About Ax 3 Domaines
Ax 3 Domaines rises above Ax-les-Thermes, a spa town whose hot springs have been in use since Roman times — the open-air *Bassin des Ladres* in the main square is free and full of locals soaking their feet.
A gondola climbs from the town centre to the three linked sectors. The climb to the resort is a Tour de France classic, which tells you what the road is like.

Where lessons start
Learning terrain up at the plateau rather than in the town, so the day starts with the gondola. The thermal baths afterwards are a very good argument for a family week.
Getting there
Toulouse is around an hour and a half, and Ax-les-Thermes has a railway station on the Toulouse–Barcelona line — one of the few Pyrenean resorts reachable without a car.
Qualifications required in France
Teaching skiing or snowboarding for payment in France is a regulated profession: an instructor must hold the Professional card (diplôme d'État de ski). Instructors listed as certified on Alpine Pal have either sent theirs to us for review or are vouched for by the ski school that invited them.

Can I reach Ax 3 Domaines without a car?
Yes — one of the few Pyrenean resorts where that works. Ax-les-Thermes has a railway station on the Toulouse–Barcelona line, and the gondola to the ski area leaves from the town centre. Toulouse is about an hour and a half by road.
