About Merano 2000
Merano 2000 is the mountain above Merano, the spa town whose mild microclimate lets palm trees grow in the valley while there is snow two thousand metres overhead. A cable car connects the two in minutes.
The skiing is gentle, sunny and family-shaped, and the contrast between the promenades below and the snow above is the whole appeal.

Is Merano 2000 worth it if half the group does not ski?
That is exactly what it is good for. A cable car from the valley floor reaches the slopes in minutes, so the skiers get a gentle, sunny, family-shaped mountain while the others have Merano's spa, promenades and mild microclimate below — palm trees in the town, snow two thousand metres overhead. Merano has a railway station, and Bolzano is around 40 minutes away.
