My name is Andrea, and I am a qualified snowboard instructor officially registered with the Regional College of Ski Instructors of Piedmont. I teach snowboard in Sestriere and throughout the Vialattea ski area. I offer private snowboard lessons and group snowboard courses for riders of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to more experienced snowboarders looking to improve their technique, confidence and independence on the mountain. Thanks to my extensive local knowledge, I can also introduce riders to some of the best freeride and off-piste terrain around Sestriere, always with a strong focus on safety, snow conditions and responsible mountain riding. What is Alpine Pal?
A marketplace where you book a ski or snowboard lesson directly with a specific instructor, independent or from a ski school, rather than with whoever is on the rota. Every instructor has a public profile with their qualification, the resorts they teach at, the languages they teach in, their price and their reviews. You choose the appropriate instructor.
How much does a private lesson cost?
Whatever the instructor has set as their hourly rate — it is shown on their profile and it is the figure you pay. There is no booking fee, no subscription and no card surcharge. Alpine Pal keeps 10% of the price and the instructor keeps 90%. Lift passes, equipment hire and insurance are not part of a lesson: those come from the resort.
Where can I book a lesson?
In 13 countries and 266 ski resorts across the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Andes, the Rockies, Japan and New Zealand. Each country page explains the terrain, the season and the qualification an instructor needs there, and each resort page lists who teaches at that resort.
Are the instructors qualified?
Two paths lead to the verified badge. An independent instructor sends us their documents and a person checks them before the profile goes live; identity and qualification are marked separately, and only what we have actually checked. An instructor invited by an authorised ski school is vouched for by that school: we review the school, not each of its instructors, and the profile names the school that stands behind the badge. In countries where teaching for money is legally regulated — France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Andorra — the country page names the credential required and links to the public register where one exists.
What happens if the instructor cannot take me?
You are refunded in full, automatically. An instructor has 48 hours to accept a paid request; if they decline or let it run out, the payment comes straight back. Once a lesson is confirmed you can still cancel with a full refund up to 48 hours before it starts.
