About Aprica
Aprica sits on the pass between the Valtellina and the Val Camonica, which gives it two sides and a lot of sun. The skiing is spread across gentle, tree-lined slopes on both flanks of the village.
It is unpretentious and well priced, and its position on a through road makes it one of the easier Lombard resorts to reach.

Where lessons start
Gentle and sheltered, with the village between the two sectors so nothing is far. A sensible family choice within reach of Milan.
Getting there
Milan is around two and a half hours; Tirano, in the valley below, has the railway station and the start of the Bernina Express.
Qualifications required in Italy
Teaching skiing or snowboarding for payment in Italy is a regulated profession: an instructor must hold the Maestro di sci, registered in the regional albo. Instructors listed as certified on Alpine Pal have either sent theirs to us for review or are vouched for by the ski school that invited them.

Is Aprica a good choice for a family from Milan?
A sensible one. The slopes are gentle, tree-lined and sheltered, spread on both sides of the pass with the village in the middle so nothing is far, and prices are unpretentious. Milan is around two and a half hours by road; without a car, the railway reaches Tirano in the valley below, and a bus climbs from there.
