About Chamrousse
Chamrousse hosted the alpine events of the 1968 Grenoble Olympics — Jean-Claude Killy won all three golds here — and it is still the mountain that Grenoble skis on, half an hour from the city.
It sits in the Belledonne range facing the Vercors across the valley, and the view down onto Grenoble from the top is one of the more striking in the Alps.

Teaching skiing or snowboarding for payment in France is a regulated profession: an instructor must hold the Professional card (diplôme d'État de ski). Instructors listed as certified on Alpine Pal have either sent theirs to us for review or are vouched for by the ski school that invited them.

Is Chamrousse a good option if I am staying in Grenoble?
Unbeatable. It is about 30 minutes from the city, with buses up, and it is well equipped for learning; the alpine events of the 1968 Olympics were held here. The same proximity fills it at weekends, so a weekday lesson is the better bet.
