About Czarna Góra

Czarna Góra is the ski area of the Śnieżnik massif, in the south of Kłodzko Land, rising above the village of Sienna near Stronie Śląskie. The runs drop from the 1,205 m summit of Czarna Góra and neighbouring Żmijowiec: about 14 km of pistes over close to 400 m of vertical, mixing open upper slopes with forest runs.

The main lift is the Luxtorpeda, a six-seat chair installed in 2016 that reaches the top in about three minutes, backed by four-seat and double chairs and drag lifts. The terrain is a genuine mix — gentle teaching slopes at the bottom, steady reds above — and in summer the mountain becomes a bike park.

Where lessons start

First lessons happen on the gentle slopes at the bottom, which have conveyor belts and snowmaking; the reds under the Luxtorpeda are the next step once turns are linked.

Getting there

Wrocław is about two hours by road. The nearest railway hub is Kłodzko, about 35 km away, and the small town of Stronie Śląskie is 6 km below.

Qualifications required in Poland

Poland has no state teaching licence. The professional standard is the SITN PZN instructor card (SITS for snowboard), and Alpine Pal shows what each instructor actually holds so you can judge it for yourself.

Czarna Góra: common questions

Is Czarna Góra or Zieleniec better for a ski trip from Wrocław?

Both are about two hours from Wrocław. Zieleniec has more lifts, more short runs and the best snow record in Poland; Czarna Góra has longer, more continuous runs from a higher summit, close to 400 m of vertical, and a fast six-seat chair. Beginners do well at either.
