About La Norma
La Norma is car-free and deliberately small: you park below, take the gondola up, and once you are there everything is within a few minutes' walk. For families with young children that layout removes most of the daily friction of a ski holiday.
The skiing is modest and wooded, facing across the Maurienne valley towards the Vanoise.

Modane is 5 minutes below, on the Paris–Turin railway.
Qualifications required in France
Teaching skiing or snowboarding for payment in France is a regulated profession: an instructor must hold the Professional card (diplôme d'État de ski). Instructors listed as certified on Alpine Pal have either sent theirs to us for review or are vouched for by the ski school that invited them.

Is La Norma good for young children?
It is built for them. The resort is car-free and deliberately small: you park below, take the gondola up, and once there the learning slopes are next to the accommodation and everything is a few minutes' walk. Modane station is five minutes below, on the Paris–Turin line.
