About Le Corbier
Le Corbier is the central base of Les Sybelles, the 300 km area that links six villages above Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. It is purpose-built, car-free and unashamedly functional: the towers are not pretty, but you step out of the door onto snow.
What you get for that is the whole Sybelles area from the doorstep, at prices well below the Tarentaise.

Where lessons start
Beginner slopes are right under the accommodation, which with children removes the worst part of the morning. The wider area gives somewhere to progress to all week.
Getting there
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is around 30 minutes and has a station on the Paris–Turin line.
Qualifications required in France
Teaching skiing or snowboarding for payment in France is a regulated profession: an instructor must hold the Professional card (diplôme d'État de ski). Instructors listed as certified on Alpine Pal have either sent theirs to us for review or are vouched for by the ski school that invited them.

Is Le Corbier a good base for Les Sybelles?
It is the central one. Le Corbier is car-free and functional: the lifts leave from beneath the apartment blocks, the beginner slopes sit right under the accommodation, and the whole 300 km Sybelles area is there to progress into. Prices are well below the Tarentaise; the towers are not pretty, but nobody comes for the architecture.
