About Luz-Ardiden

Luz Ardiden is a wide open bowl above the village of Luz-Saint-Sauveur, best known outside skiing as a Tour de France summit finish — it is where Lance Armstrong crashed and remounted in 2003.

It is quieter than Grand Tourmalet next door, and the terrain is generous and treeless, which suits confident skiers and punishes flat light.
