Tarvisio also has a railway station on the Udine–Villach line, so it works without a car. Once there, the Di Prampero descent from Monte Lussari is the run to build towards, and the forest around the town holds one of the largest cross-country networks in Italy.

The Di Prampero descent from Monte Lussari is one of the longest in the eastern Alps, and the mountain-top sanctuary of Lussari is reachable by cable car.
