About Wierchomla

Wierchomla is the resort known as Dwie Doliny, Polish for two valleys, and the name is the layout: lifts climb both sides of a single ridge of the Beskid Sądecki, from Wierchomla Mała on one side and Szczawnik on the other, topping out at around 1,000 m on Jaworzynka. Both valleys are on the same pass.

There are about 10 km of pistes, all snowmade, groomed and floodlit, and none of them black, which makes it one of the more relaxed family resorts in the Polish mountains. The Wierchomla side has the hotel, the ski school and a lit snowpark; the spa town of Muszyna is the nearest base on the Szczawnik side.

Where lessons start

The runs are wide and evenly pitched, with no black terrain, so a beginner can move from the nursery lifts at the bottom to a full run from the ridge within a few days. The floodlights make an evening lesson possible.

Wierchomla: common questions

Is Wierchomla good for a family ski trip?

Yes — that is what it is built for. About 10 km of runs, all snowmade, groomed and floodlit, with no black pistes, two valleys on one pass and a hotel and ski school at the Wierchomla base. Stronger skiers will find more challenge at Jaworzyna Krynicka, nearby.
