About Hanmer Springs Ski Area
Hanmer Springs is a small community-run field above the village of the same name, and the real draw is the combination: a morning on the snow and an afternoon in the thermal pools the village is famous for.
The skiing is modest and the road up is rough, but as a day out from Christchurch it is hard to argue with.
